INFINITY UNIVERSE: WORLD 2

World 2 is a desert. 200 miles diameter. It is 1200 miles away. It is almost entirely desert, with an intelligent race of reptile men who are primitive and vicious. They guard the sources of the water. The desert is part shifting sands, and part high chaparral with cactus and scrubby grass. There are oases. The mountains have caves that shelter the most dangerous creatures that come out at night. Day lasts 48 hours, and night lasts 48 hours. There are a number of dangerous species on this desert world. It has 8 gate complexes.

The interface gates are connected by a road that circumnavigates the world. It takes an odd path, sometimes going around mountains and sometimes going through them.

There is no surface water to be found outside the 12 oases. Some caves have water inside, and occasionally clouds will pass through the world, causing thick wet fog, and occasional lightning storms,. When the storms hit, there is torrential rain and flash floods.

Desert survival is the order of the day. Days are over 100 degrees F, and nights are around 30 degrees F.

An  intelligent species of reptile men called the OTCHAK roam the world in small nomadic tribes. They are ferocious, and bronze age. They will definitely kill and eat any humans they capture. The Otchak hunt primarily during the day, seeking out burrows and small creatures, while the more dangerous insects and snakes hunt at night.

There are plenty of desert species of plants, animals and insects on World 2. Some of them live on the surface, but most live underground in burrows and tunnels. Giant insects are common.

The world features extensive cave and tunnel formations. It is underground where most of the water can be found, and where most of the dangerous life resides.

Higgenbottom is on Planet 2. He has found shelter in a cave next to platform 3. He has been able to sneak into the train-yard of 3 and get quite a few useful supplies. He has stolen a truckload of hubcaps and other supplies. Along with the truck.

Of the 8 Gates, three are within 20 miles of each other on one side of the world, while the others are spread across the world, connected by a red dirt road. The road is actually indestructible, but it has been made to appear as an ordinary dirt road.

Travel during the day requires shade and water. The only real encounters would be with Otchak Hunters, small animals like snakes or lizards who have been disturbed, and migratory birds that have flown in from other worlds.

The Explorers know that:

Gate 1  leads to the basement of The Cup and Dragon Inn on The Street of Shadows. The basement is locked from the inside. Hasn't been opened in possibly centuries. When the PCs enter the tavern from the basement, they will be the new owners. Lucky Cuss Morgan (hobbit) will use them to his best advantage. The City State of the Invincible Overlord is a bustling place, filled with all sorts of strange characters and species. The interface is magic based, and uses a series of intricate runes that are carved into the stone platform, and which hold magical oil that, when burned, initiate the transfer.

Gate 2, a complex of intricate futuristic, and yet somehow retro silver control consoles. It leads to the headquarters of The Crimson Avenger, on the outskirts of San Metro. On the West Coast Superheroes exist. This is the underground secret headquarters of The Crimson Avenger. Inventor and industrialist Travis Lee is secretly the Crimson Avenger. He has a network of operatives. His assistant Jill Dearheart has moved his corporate headquarters to the mansion. While she knows that the secret of the Crimson Avenger's base beneath the mansion, she has no idea that Travis Lee is the Crimson Avenger. The manssion and underground headquarters are entirely powered by the Kappa Energy produced by the dimensional interface.

Gate 3 leads to a guarded train yard in San Bernardino California. In this reality, the Soviet union invaded and conquered the United States in 1992. This information comes to them from Professor Higgenbottom, who was stranded here.
